We represent footballers in Portugal and abroad, from the first contract to the last.
Who we represent
What we do
We negotiate employment and transfer contracts in the player’s exclusive interest, under the FIFA Football Agent Regulations.
We read the clauses before anything is signed, handle the tax position in Portugal and abroad, and keep up with the obligations that come with a professional career.
We watch matches and training, write up what we see, and go through it with the player and the people who coach him.
We have direct lines to clubs and partner agencies in Portugal, across Europe and outside the EU, for placements and for shared representation.
We negotiate sponsorship and image rights agreements with the scope set out in advance: what the brand may use, where, and for how long.
The agency
Starline is an independent agency. No club owns or controls it, and it answers to the player. Miguel Sousa, a FIFA licensed agent, founded it. It works out of the north of Portugal and places players here and abroad.
Most of this industry manages careers around the transfers they can produce. A playing career is short, and a bad move can cost years of it, so the decisions here start from where the player is and where he can realistically get to.
That costs the agency money. It means telling a player to stay when a transfer would earn us a fee, saying things he would rather not hear, and starting work on an exit months before the window opens, while he still has a choice.
How we work
We read the contract he is already on and go through it with him in plain language: release clauses, bonuses, obligations, dates. Many players have never had that done. His family is part of the conversation.
We speak every week and we go to the matches. What we see, we write down and go through with him. It does not travel behind his back.
We put a recommendation in writing, and early: stay or move, which clubs fit, what he gives up either way. He makes the call.
He gets it in writing: what we did, what worked, what did not, and what the next season should look like. He can hold us to it.
